The Image template has a variety of applications in SC Training (formerly EdApp). Instructional designers not only use it to show their users pictures of products or diagrams to confer complete clarity as to what they are being taught, but also use it to introduce characters who “join” the user on their elearning journey.

In this article we will review the basics of using an Image template from within the content editor, so that you can apply stunning imagery to your SC Training (formerly EdApp) microlessons.

Image template – The essentials

While there are some advanced customisation options available (which are detailed in the next article), these settings default to the optimal configuration for most use cases. You only need to worry about uploading an image, setting a title and configuring text content.

The image uploaded should be a png or jpg (check that the filename ends in .png or .jpg!). Also, as a rule it is better to use images which have a smaller file size – this will keep the download time of each lesson as short as possible. Simply press upload, and select the image you wish to use in the lesson – it will appear in the content preview window once the upload has completed.

The Title and Content fields are there for you to configure the text that displays when the image is tapped. If you just want to show a picture with no written content, then you’re done! Otherwise, content in the Title field is automatically bolded and aligned to the top of the textbox overlay, with Content content appearing below.
