10. Autosobriety to Prevent Drink-Driving in South Africa

In partnership with Pernod Ricard, the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) created the Autosobriety global training program. It seeks to advance UN Global Road Safety Performance Target #9, which is to reduce alcohol-related crashes that result in injuries or fatalities by half by 2030.

The four modules in this course are designed to give learners a foundational understanding of the statistics surrounding auto accidents, the effects of alcohol on driving ability, and the dangers of driving while intoxicated. Along with this, it’ll also talk about the associated legal repercussions and a driver’s personal duty to refrain from drinking while driving.
