CA AB 1432

This bill describes the training requirements for teachers, employees, and administrators in every school under the California Department of Education (CDE). It requires all state-registered schools to:

  • Train staff annually for compliance and complete abilities
  • Deliver CANRA reporting training to new employees within the first six weeks of their hiring
  • Offer mandated reporter training within the first six weeks of each school year
  • Establish an effective process to distribute and document proof of completion

CA AB 1207

The bill revision states that a licensed daycare facility’s server, supervisor, administrator, and manager should complete CANRA reporter training. Based on this act, daycare organizations and license applicants are required to:

  • Train their staff every two years on mandated reporter responsibilities and procedures
  • Submit all their employee’s documented proof of completion to the California Department of Social Services
  • Solve any cited CANRA law violations, including reporter training, within 90 days of notice

CA AB 1963

The state requires all businesses that employ more than five minors to deliver CANRA reporter courses. This behavior-based safety program is necessary for:

  • All HR personnel who accept complaints of misconduct
  • Each adult employee who directly interacts with or supervises employed minors

CA AB 506

Californian organizations and programs that serve minors should complete child abuse and neglect reporting training. This includes Boys Scouts, youth camps, and non-profits, which are required to:

  • Train all administrators, managers, and employees in identifying and addressing witnessed or suspected harm to minors
  • Include legal-aged regular volunteers in training who have direct contact with or supervise minors for over 16 hours per month or 32 hours per year
